About Me

Hi! I am Wenxin, a Visiting Faculty Researcher at Google Research NYC. I will join London Business School as an Assistant Professor of Management Science and Operations in August 2027.

I am broadly interested in dynamic resource allocation, especially for large-scale computing systems that power modern machine learning services. I build application-grounded models and design simple, deployable algorithms with provable performance guarantees, drawing tools from stochastic modeling, optimization, and control theory.

Previously, I obtained my PhD from the Decision, Risk, and Operations division at Columbia Business School, where I was very fortunate to be advised by Santiago R. Balseiro and Will Ma. During my PhD, I was a student researcher at Google Research in the summers of 2024 and 2025, hosted by Balasubramanian Sivan, where I worked on developing distributed load balancing algorithms, motivated by generative AI inference. Before that, I obtained my BE in Industrial Engineering from Tsinghua University, with a minor in Data Science and Technology.
