About Me
Hi! I am Wenxin, a fifth-year PhD student at Columbia Business School in the Decision, Risk, and Operations division. I am very fortunate to be advised by Santiago R. Balseiro and Will Ma.
I am broadly interested in dynamic resource allocation, especially for large-scale computing systems that power modern machine learning services. I build application-grounded models and design simple, deployable algorithms with provable performance guarantees, drawing tools from stochastic modeling, optimization, and control theory. In the summer of 2024 and 2025, I was a student researcher at Google Research hosted by Balasubramanian Sivan, where I worked on developing distributed load balancing algorithms, motivated by generative AI inference.
Previously, I obtained my BE in Industrial Engineering from Tsinghua University, with a minor in Data Science and Technology.
I’m on the 2025-2026 job market!
